Partnership Superintendent Kathleen Porter-Magee featured on PBS NewsHour!

We are delighted to share with you a link to an eight-minute PBS NewsHour segment featuring our very own superintendent and Chief Academic Officer Kathleen Porter-Magee. Kathleen offered an eloquent and well-founded defense of the use of testing aligned to the Common Core State Standards as a means of increasing student achievement.

Though she acknowledges the importance of preserving core instructional time, Kathleen argues that the information gathered through standards-aligned testing is an essential tool which ensures that teachers’ time is put to the best possible use.

It is a great privilege to have someone of Kathleen’s intellect and expertise providing us with her leadership, and we are excited both for the opportunity to work alongside her and to hear firsthand her continued contributions to the discourse surrounding education reform.
